To Nate,
These are some Haikus,
With which I hope to tell you
How grateful I am.
Nate what you have done,
has benefited many,
including myself.
Before I signed up,
My grammar was terrible,
and my spelling, well.
But since I’ve been here,
I have met many great people,
who have helped me out.
What can I say Nate?
This site is my second home!
Thanks so much!
~ Lydia1995
This would probably be more heartfelt
if I had the time.
Just though I'd let you know that,
I'm trying not to whine.
I know my poetry's bad,
I prefer to stick to prose,
but you put a lot of effort
in helping us all grow.
At the very least,
all your hard work and time,
should be rewarded,
with a bit of mine.

Rainbows
by Jasmine Hart
I
am moving up in the world;
thirty stained glass lampshades,
genie already flown,
(Karen, my market neighbour
who taught me what I needed.
Thank you Karen, by the way.)
and, by my tanned skin,
they're selling!
I rotate them periodically
under the pretence of rearranging,
and they catch the sun and
fracture it and
split it into rainbow droplets,
which catch the eye,
and serve as bait
or opium.
And you, you come
and purchase one and
I wrap it for you and
I know you'll come back.
(Because your one was cracked.)
Yeah he's so great,
And his name is Nate.
He started a site,
Controls it without a fight.
When a writer comes to him,
He helps them on a whim!
YWS, YWS, we love you!
If you don't say so, we will punch you!
New writers, old,
Come to Nate, he won't scold!
Stuck in a jam,
Nate's a ham!
Stupid old writer's block,
Nate'll give you a shock!
Nate's such a friend,
He'll help you no end!
He keeps things smooth,
Throws in some groove!
That's why we love him,
But it's hard to hug him!
Oh YWS, YWS, we love you!
If you don't say so, we will punch you!

So thank you for creating the site and all and for reading these lyrics. I’d write more, but I’m awful at parodying rap songs, though I chose it because it had a good beat.
dedicated to Nate, creator of YWS
chorus:Hey Nate let me thank you now
There’s so many ways to thank youHey Nate let me break it down
That there’s so many ways to thank youI’m sayin’ you do so much, for this site

This is our world:
A park, so loud and alive with movement
But across town, another - desolate, wrecked.
There’s a tattoo parlour on the high street
And an art gallery – abstracts, sketches,
Portraits of truth, luxury, distress.
Cafés in the city, one for every month,
A cosy shelter with beanbags and tables,
While rain hammers on the pavement
Illuminated by rush hour headlights.
On the market, a girl sells marmalade
Shouting poetic enticements.
Second-hand shirts are draped over a line,
The multi-colours fighting each other
For our attention.
And beyond the town, fields lie flat
Making way for the sky
Or perhaps just making room for us to see
All of this, so that we can describe it,
Write it out, recreate it
And take it with us wherever we go.
